The Belgian Paul-Henri Spaak (1889-1972) is one of the founding fathers of the European integration.
He was 'first president' of important institutions: the General Assembly of the United Nation as well the Parliamentary Assembly of the European Community of Coal and Steel. His contribution to the creation of the European Common Market was crucial.
