3rd Artist book and small editions Festival: call for participants

Books where matter and spirit are kept to be read, looked at and touched

Authors of Artist books, illustrated books editors, self-editors, book artisans and every human that make books, to participate have to:

1. Register until January 6th, 2010. Send an e.mail to: info@ilde.info

2. Send, before March 10th, 2010, the book or 10 copies maximum of the same edition to: Elisa Pellacani, Apartado n° 134, 08080 Barcelona

The Festival’s presentation will take place on Imagine Book Square in Barcelona (Sant Just Square), by April 23rd, 2010; after we’ll be in the Centre Civic Pati Llimona (c/Regomir, 3) and in the Loring Art bookshop (c/Gravina, 8).

This is an International and travelling Festival and a selection of the pieces will be compilated in a catalogue, edited by Consulta, libri e progetti.

The festival in Barcelona is curate by Elisa Pellacani - Asociaciòn de artistas del libro ILDE - in collaboration with Barcelona Townhall, Ciutat Vella - Centre Cívic Pati Llimona, Loring Art bookshop (Barcelona), Argot bookshop (Castellon), Spazio Arte-Libri Il filo di Partenope (Napoles)

“L'Estate di Michele”: child labour and comics



“L'Estate di Michele” (Micheal’s Summer) is a 48 pages long comic book about the life of a group of young people who spend the Summer in Sicily. The book deals with issues like dropping out the school and the child labour.

The authors are Sergio Staino, Gianluca Ferro and Giuliano Cangiano. The comic book is supported by Regione Toscana, Provincia di Pisa and the International Labour Organization through the campaign SCREAM (Supporting Children’s Rights through Arts, Education and the Media).
